Smug-Inducing Tuna Avocado Salad (High Protein & Fiber in 5 Minutes)

Do you ever have a salad that just makes you feel... smug?
You know that feeling of self-satisfaction because it's packed with nutrients, looks beautiful, and tastes amazing... and it only took you about four minutes to throw together with a handful of healthy ingredients.
That's exactly how I feel about this healthy tuna salad recipe.
Now, this is not the tuna salad you probably grew up making with a can of grey, oily tuna mixed with a bucket of mayonnaise and some jarred relish.
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing inherently bad with mayonnaise. But swapping some (or all) of the mayo for avocado adds fiber, vitamins, minerals, and heart-healthy fats while keeping the protein high.
And that's important because most women over 50 are unknowingly under-eating two nutrients their bodies need more of as they age: protein and fiber.
Protein helps support muscle (for strength and mobility), bone health, and healthy aging. Fiber supports digestion, heart health, blood sugar balance, and helps keep you feeling satisfied after meals.
Take a look at why I made the switch:

Not Sure If You're Getting Enough Protein?
Grab a copy of my guide, The Protein Advantage, and learn exactly how much protein your body needs as you get older to support muscle, bone health, energy, and a healthy weight. You'll also get a simple meal plan to help you get started.
I love a good tuna salad, but I wanted something that was incredibly fast to make for lunch on busy afternoons, would hold me until dinner, and included the nutrients my body needs to feel its best. (Most women need 25-30 grams of protein at every meal, and 25-30 grams of fiber daily).
The secret to this salad is the combination of high-quality solid tuna packed in water for protein, a ripe avocado for healthy fats and fiber, and simple seasonings like salt and pepper.
I personally use Wild Planet Albacore Tuna because it's sustainably caught, has a firm texture, and packs about 30 grams of protein per can.
And it's super versatile!
You can mix in a sprinkle of cumin and onion powder and use it as a dip for sliced cucumbers and bell peppers. You can pile it onto a bed of baby greens and drizzle it with my simple lemon dressing.
Or, if you're really short on time, mix everything together and eat it straight from the bowl with a fork...No judgment here.

This is one of those recipes that proves healthy eating doesn't have to be complicated. A few simple ingredients, less than five minutes of prep, and you've got a meal that supports your strength, energy, and healthy aging goals.
And if it makes you feel just a little smug while you're eating it?
Well, I won't tell.
