ABOUT ME

Hello!

I'm Jessica Wynne Gatke,

creator of the WIN the Day, Fit for Life! system for sustainable fitness and nutrition.

I believe creating lasting habits is imperative to healthy aging.  Fitness is a lifelong journey and I understand that we are all unique in our body’s ever-changing needs with exercise and nutrition. Whether your goal is to build or rebuild strength, want to start habits for healthy aging, or need to improve mobility and balance, my goal is to provide support and guidance for improving fitness and overall well-being. I believe that weight-bearing exercise, intentional living practices, and a nourished body and soul are the best tools for healthy aging.

My enthusiasm for fitness started when I was very young as a gymnast turned springboard diver, but my active lifestyle was put on the backburner when I entered adulthood. For many years I had successes and failures with yo-yo dieting and terrible exercise habits. Over the years my journey has experienced a history filled with health challenges including knee injuries, childbirth via c-section, chronic nerve pain and spinal stenosis. All along the way, I learned about healthy nutrition, how to get stronger, and created a sustainable active lifestyle.

My parents are my biggest influence. They love to hike, kayak, travel and garden, and also have their own health challenges and fitness needs to maintain their level of activity well into retirement years. When I entered the health and wellness industry, I was inspired to focus my personal training specifically for older adults 55+ and empathize with the unique needs that come with aging. I am a certified personal trainer with specialized education in behavior change, corrective exercise, nutrition, and older adult fitness. It brings me joy to help my clients improve balance, gain strength and endurance to enjoy their favorite activities with renewed vitality.

When I'm not coaching clients, I love to spend time with my family walking our dogs in our neighborhood, watching football and sci-fi movies. You'll find me getting creative painting landscapes and flowers with oil paint or in my kitchen creating delicious meals with local produce. My favorite social pastime is playing mah-jong and laughing with friends.
